Bioinsecticide based on Steneirnema carpocapsae against overwintering larvae of Codling Moth, other orchard Lepidoptera, Red Palm Weevil and other phytophagous insects.
S. carpocapsae is an entomoparasitic nematode larger than S. feltiae, showing greater resistance to desiccation, but acting at higher temperatures (from 12°C to 30°C). The product comes in plastic trays containing the nematodes mixed with dispersing material, which must be dissolved in water. Use the product following the instructions which may vary according to the target insect and the application that can be directed to the soil or on the plant, depending on where the susceptible stage of the host is located. In orchards against overwintering larvae of Codling Moth and other Lepidoptera, the product should preferably be applied in autumn (September/October), possibly on humid and rainy days or with forecasts of imminent meteorological events. In the absence of
